Dear Reader,
On behalf of the Cornell club of Minnesota, I want to thank all the alumni who withstood the 90 degree+ heat and high humidity to attend the New Student Send Off Picnic on Sunday.Over 90 people attended the event and we had our largest new student turnout ever. Next year let's get 120 people!
Thank you to Al & Lucy Levitan for hosting the event.
Be sure to thank the following people when you see them next time: Carlos Gutierrez did a lot of the planning and he, along with Michael Boull, worked over the hot grills.
Julie Westbrock took all the photos. If anyone else took some photos send them our way.
Kate McAndrews & Nicole Danielsen handled all the check-ins, administrative work and welcomed our new students.
Dimitri Hatzigeorgiou from Starbucks provided gifts to all the new freshman, along with Ethos water and plenty of iced coffees/teas.
Coca Cola provided the club with over 70 bottles of Dasani water (thanks Carlos).
We have uploaded photos to the event to our Facebook page. We will be adding them to photo sharing site soon. If you don't have a Facebook account we encourage you to sign up - you don't need to "use" it for anything other than the club - it is the fastest and easiest way to communicate with our members. We have posted photos and our upcoming events there.
We are in the process of integrating a new, Ithaca provided, website to provide updates as well (that is still probably 6 months away from being completed in Ithaca).
Below is some more information about the upcoming events. We hope to see you there!!
We are still in need of volunteers. In particular we are looking for: a) Treasurer b) Event planner c) 5 people - not board members - to plan one event a year. This could be a social event, tour or company visit/tour.
Your continued support is appreciated.
